Re-Opening the Mine Near Coeur d'Alene, Idaho (Under Construction)
A large pond developed were the mine had caved 200 feet from the portal (note the scarp on the hill above the culverted portal).
Both bedrock and alluvium were involved in the cave. The head in the pond was relieved by driving 2 inch pipe through the caved area.
The bedrock component of the caved area was then mucked and restabilized with roof bolts. The alluvial portion of the cave
was stabilized with a culvert
